If a flat installation, installation of this equipment still had to be tilted to the position of the storage tank is higher than the collector panel, as shown below.

Water heater or water heater seems to have become a way of life in urban areas. In addition it is very comfortable warm bath when the body is tired after a long day of work, in certain circumstances it is necessary for elderly family members or affected by arthritis or who are allergic to the cold. Characteristics after afternoon showers often sneezing like flu symptoms. One solution yes evening wear warm water bath.

Traditionally to get hot water, enough water to cook with the stove. Then masalahpun appeared, long wait until the hot water and the amount of hot water obtained is also limited. The more water that is heated, the longer the wait for him and certainly the more fuel is needed.

On this basis (time-quantity-energy-costs), the presence of water heating technology of choice. Quite a lot of brands of water heaters in the market with various features offered. However, according to our observations above are not all problems solvable by existing brands and types. In other words, each brand and type has advantages and disadvantages of each. For the moment we try to discuss the first type of solar water heaters, Solar Water Heater.
Based on how the system is used, the solar water heater is divided into two types, namely:
1 solar water heater system is passive
2 solar water heater system is active

1. passive - Solar Water Heater: passive solar water heater

As the name implies this type of water heater uses sunlight as energy to heat water. Said to be passive because this type does not need another energy in the hot water production process. In other words 100% rely on solar energy.
This type of water heater comprises two main components, the collector panel and storage tank, which is connected by two pipes. In the collector panels are glass cover that functions capture the sun's heat circuit arrangement in which there is a copper pipe as the water lines are wrapped with heat sink fins (absorber). While the tank acts like a thermos of hot water in order to accommodate the long-lasting heat.

How it works, as seen in the picture above, when the sun is shining, the collector panels capture sunlight and mechanically transferring heat from the heat sink fins to copper pipes filled with water, so that the temperature of the water in it slowly increased. Warmer water will move up into the storage tank and the colder water will come down into a series of copper pipe to be heated. So on moving water itself until all the water in the storage tank reaches the desired temperature. When the temperature of hot water in the storage tank is equal to the temperature of the hot water in the collector panel, with its own water stops flowing.
There are of interest here, namely the water hotter and colder water continues to circulate without outside help, such as pumps. This can happen because the water is heated to expand and cause the masses of its kind to be lighter than the density of water so that the water cooler the more heat will move up. This is called the principle of natural convection of water due to heating, and systems based on this principle is called Thermosiphon system.
Therefore solar water heater with this Thermosiphon system, installation is always on the roof of the house. In addition to getting enough sunlight, the slope of the roof used to position the storage tank is higher than the collector panels.

2 Active - Solar Water Heater: active solar water heater

Just as solar water heating system is passive, solar water heating systems utilizing solar energy remains active for the water heating process, only for the distribution of hot water and the cold water still requires electricity to drive the pump and the automatic control device.

Solar water heating system is active, is designed for the purpose of hot water in a large scale, such as hotels, spas, hospitals and apartments. Therefore these active systems require more complex support components and the capacity of storage tanks are much larger.

In special conditions / emergency, such as rain or overcast weather days, while the demand for hot water has increased, the system is equipped with an electric energy water heater, gas or heat pump as its emergency backup. Following the scheme of this type of system is fitted as an emergency backup heat pump her.
